Because how you want to feel in your home is special to you and unlike anybody else, so the spaces we create for you should be just as unique. With an approach that balances both function and form, there are no cookie cutters or formulas here – we look to understand the way you live and what you love, and find a way to make it happen for you.

Yellowbird enjoys trends, but we don’t always follow them, as we don’t believe in creating more of the same. Instead, we have a deep love of the classics, and support great emerging design. We take a sprinkle of each of these ingredients to create a timeless design with a unique recipe to your individual taste.

Who We Are

Yellowbird Director Fina Chan has a background in product development, planning, strategy and marketing, with a passion for delivering amazing customer experiences. She now applies her experience in understanding customers to what they need and want when it comes to interiors. With an aesthetic inspired by a love of travel and experiences from living overseas, Fina incorporates these with the Australian lifestyle she loves, to deliver a modern, timeless style designed specifically for how you live.

Process

Initial Consultation $200

We meet with you to discuss your requirements and scope of work. We then come back to you with a return brief which outlines our understanding of the project and fee proposal to proceed.

What’s Included in the Proposal

Development 

We research and gather ideas and options to develop a concept that we think will achieve what you want. We then work with you to refine it into what you feel is right.

Design

Now that we have a concept direction, it’s time for the design to take shape in detail. It’s the details that make a space into a sensory experience – materials and finishes that aren’t just colours you see, but textures you feel. Movement and flow for how you live, and spaces you’ll love to stay.

Documentation

Once we’ve decided on the design together, we’ll provide all the drawings and documentation required to bring it to life. Now you’re ready to build, and we support with site visits to ensure it’s all going according to plan.

Decoration

We help with styling and selecting furniture, lighting, artwork and accessories.

The fee proposal is calculated on an hourly design fee of $100/hour to achieve the above, as applicable to your project.

An additional 10% margin is applied to any custom designed items, including but not limited to joinery, custom furniture, window furnishings or upholstery.
